I love the quiet pause before the bride walks down the aisle. It’s a singular moment even when the rest of a ceremony can become a blur in one’s memory, that quiet moment will stay with you.

Although there were so many neat photo ops at this wedding the most impressive thing there was the love that Bryan and Rachel had for each other and the love that their friends and family had for them. It was my pleasure to second shoot for Tiffany Axtmann at their wedding.

A few moments before their rehearsal dinner Katie, Julio and I ran off and took these sweet couple photos. You can tell they are best friends. And check out Katie’s henna designs on her hands! Aren’t they beautiful? I’ve known Katie for a long time and one of our favorite pastimes has been to watch Bollywood movies together and bake vegan delights! So, although Julio is Filipino the henna was no surprise to me!

Two weeks ago I was able to attend the lovely Branches & Light photography workshop. It was hosted at the Sutherland in North Carolina by Nancy and Caroline. I learned so much about overcoming fear in business, organization, branding and Emily Ayer of Southern Weddings spoke with us about getting published. We even had a professionally styled shoot to photograph…. I hope you love it as much as I do!

I took this photo yesterday. So, I’m kind of cheating today and the next couple of days but I think you’ll understand why… Today I’m on my way to North Carolina to participate in the Branches & Light Photography Workshop. I’m so excited! I can’t wait to meet all the ladies participating and learn from Caroline Joy, Nancy Ray and Emily Ayer!

After chocolate cake my favorite cake is strawberry. This one happens to be vegan and I picked it up from Whole Foods this afternoon…. And I’m kind of on a sugar high right now because I just finished eating it :)

Wow, I am having a lot of fun with this 30 day challenge. Today I chose to photograph heels. I can’t wait to shoot a few more “wedding” details throughout the month.
