We took some time out of Bethany and Alex’s destination wedding weekend to take some “engagement” photos. I love the coast of California! It’s so beautiful. We started out in Marina del Rey, headed over to Venice Beach and finished everything off at Santa Monica Pier. I’ll be posting a few more (goofy!) photos later this week on my facebook page. I love how diverse Rhode Island’s landscape is. We took all of Joe and Maria’s engagement photos in Pawtucket. But we were still able to pull off two very differently styled looks. I love how both outfits go with their surroundings, the golden light of the park and the graphic shapes and textures of the old brick buildings downtown. Maria and Joe were so adventurous! Check out the doorway that Joe spotted… they climbed up there and it’s almost six feet off the ground! Guy’s you were a blast to hang out with and I can’t wait to photograph your wedding!

The morning of Ashley and Bryan’s engagement session was gloomy and rainy. And Ash and Bryan were really into the idea of traditional engagement portraits… So what do you do on a rainy morning on the East Side of Providence when you are supposed to be taking engagement photos? Go on a three mini field trips! We started off at the Providence Athenaeum, then headed over to the Edna Lawrence Nature Lab and finished it off with a visit to the Grand Gallery at the RISD Museum of Art. And then the sun came out (a little bit)! It was the perfect ending to a perfect morning.

My best friend in Texas is getting married!!!!! Here are a few unofficial engagement photos. I happened to snap these moments before her sister’s rehearsal dinner earlier this summer. Bethany I love you so much! I’m so excited for you and Alex and I can’t wait to be apart of your big day!

A few moments before their rehearsal dinner Katie, Julio and I ran off and took these sweet couple photos. You can tell they are best friends. And check out Katie’s henna designs on her hands! Aren’t they beautiful? I’ve known Katie for a long time and one of our favorite pastimes has been to watch Bollywood movies together and bake vegan delights! So, although Julio is Filipino the henna was no surprise to me!

I am thrilled to share with all of you a styled engagement session by Alli Coate and myself. We got together for coffee one morning knowing that we wanted to plan something and the conversation lead to, “What could we get done in one week?” And this is it, a labor of love.

Our inspiration came from the town of Bristol, Rhode Island. They have strong patriotic roots boasting historically the longest running 4th of July parade in the United States! Alli designed an elegant and modern invitation suite complete with a save-the-date match box and a sparkle confetti pouch!

I am so pleased to share Ashley & Josh’s engagement session with you all. They are such a loving couple, best friends and I loved shooting their wedding (Which you can view here). We had a lot of fun on location in Scituate, RI. Josh’s Dad lent us this gorgeous vintage Ford pick-up truck : A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. And then Josh suggested driving to this secluded location where we were able to get some very stunningly romantic photos of the two of them. Major points for him! I hope you enjoy.

I was excited to shoot John and Jenny’s engagement session at Thousand Oaks Ranch.When they said they wanted to bring their two dogs and some camping equipment I was thrilled! They are hardcore adventurers and even set up a wedding registry at REI! When we were discussing their wedding plans they planned to keep decorations to a minimum (NO TULLE!!) but still include some neat details (think: groom arriving on horse back and bride arriving by canoe).
