Stephanie and Kevin held their wedding at the rustic Blueberry Hill Inn. It was an intimate retreat for friends and family who came in from all over the country to celebrate with them. Blueberry Hill Inn is a quintessential Vermont destination for someone one looking for a sense of whimsical New England charm. Basically, if Lorelai Gilmore was going on a weekend getaway to an inn that wasn’t her own it would be to Blueberry Hill Inn.
“Authentic” gets a little overused on instagram. Its meaning lost when used to describe an obviously styled and meticulously branded image. I love Branding. It’s a fascinating subject. And I love styling wedding details. It can enhance the clarity of a couple’s love story when told in a picture format. In fact I was styling a photo of the wedding rings when I looked up and from out of the second story window I saw Stephanie hugging and apologizing to Kevin for being stressed. Because she loved him. Because he loved her. Because Love is patient. Because Love is kind. Because their Love is authentic.
If your dog can handle it, I say have them involved in your big day Also, from an art history perspective, I enjoy the symbolism of having dogs in wedding photos.
Moments before the ceremony Stephanie’s mom tied the sash of her dress for her. Stephanie wore an etherial gown by Willowby Watters from BHLDN. Stephanie in the flowing tulle skirt, the illusion neckline and the floral covered bodice evoked a dreamy princess straight out of a fairytale.
It was an intimate ceremony held under a tree behind the inn. Stephanie’s brother walked her down the aisle. He officiated the ceremony as well which made the ceremony that much more special.
Stephanie and Kevin’s first family portrait with their fur babies! Aren’t they darling? I loved how even the dogs got dressed up for the occasion with a flower garland and a bow tie.
Creating romantic portraits with my couples is something that I love to do! For Stephanie and Kevin I scouted out this enchanting greenhouse. The greenhouse is attached alongside the inn and acts as a hallway for guests going to and from their rooms. I felt that the botanical, light filled hallway created a sense of intimacy that would compliment the portraits well. Stephanie (and her maid of honor!) thought of every delightful details. From heart shaped sparklers to a whimsical birch tree “growing” right out of the middle of the tent, Stephanie and Kevin provided a fun and unique atmosphere for their guest to enjoy.
As the sun was setting we stole away for just a moment. They let their dogs roam free and had some time to themselves.
Before the light slipped away and we returned to the cheer and merriment of the reception, we took this one final portrait of Stephanie, Kevin and their dogs.
Well into the evening the guests lit sparklers then meandered over to a bonfire to continue the celebration. I enjoyed capturing ambiance of the bonfire. Having that relaxed time with the guests at the end of the night punctuated the weekend so perfectly.
