Atlas Quarterly

Community | Providence, RI |

This morning I sat down with a mug of coffee and the premiere issue of Atlas Quarterly. Inside it was a collection of beautifully written articles featuring American makers, artists and collectors. After reading the Letter from the Editor and the first two articles I knew I was in love. I can’t wait for the next issue and I’m not even done with this one :) If you’d like to learn more about Atlas Quarterly, please kindly visit their website HERE.

Laura, I cannot express how proud I am of you! I love this publication. You and your team did an amazing job!

Save Chocolateville

Community | Providence, RI |

I was walking through Whole Foods this afternoon after church, looking for lunch and a HUGE sign caught my eye… now the fact that it was huge was only one of three reasons that it caught my eye. The other two eye catching features were: 1) great  design and 2) its mention of chocolate :) So, I took a closer look. Turns out they were selling $5 candy bars… I took pause… five dollars? I read further. Theses lovely Save Chocolateville Bars were local, handmade, artisan chocolates (yum!) created by Andrew Shotts owner of Garrison Confections, the package design was by local artist  Casey Spencer, even the printing was local (Barrington Printing) and proceeds from the sale of the candy bar would go to benefit children in Central Falls, RI; an idea by Mike Ritz. I was sold and inspired! I love seeing Rhode Islanders take an active role in their community.

You can learn more about Save Chocolateville, it’s name and inspiration as well as Leadership Rhode Island by clicking on their highlighted links.

And the next time you’re at Whole Foods pick up a Save Chocolateville Bar.

Cape Neddick Lighthouse

Personal | York, ME |

While we were in Portsmouth, New Hampshire last weekend we crossed the bridge into Maine and visited the Cape Neddick “Nubble” Lighthouse. I loved the coastal drive over. I think we will have to visit again in the warmer months.

Gus & Ruby

Community | Portsmouth, NH |

We were up in Portsmouth, New Hampshire last weekend. While we were there we took a stroll, had brunch at The Friendly Toast and stopped by Gus & Ruby. I loved that little letterpress shop! I pretty much wanted to purchase EVERYTHING! But I settled for a business card case, a lovely rubber stamp set from Chewing the Cud and some striped paper straws. If you ever get a chance you should stop in too :)
